Tunage: Fall jams

Two albums I've been excessively into this month are 'Pines' by A Fine Frenzy and 'Repave' by Volcano choir (one of Bon Iver's side projects). They both have a really autumny feel about them and they've been perfect to jam while cozying up in my apartment with some homework and candles (romancin'). Today I listened to Byegone by Volcano Choir on repeat while walking to campus this morning and looked down at my feet crunching through piles of leaves and felt the utmost sense of contentment. Repave came out earlier this month and I have to admit, it's the very first song that I've actually gone and purchased off of iTunes and I don't regret it whatsoever.

Pines has been out for a while (2012) but I just recently re-discovered it a midst my vast collection of music on my lap top and I've been oh so into it. I can't usually get this into female vocalists (don't ask me why because quite frankly I haven't the slightest of clues), but this woman has the voice of an angel and the most eloquent lyrics so. I think that my favourite tune off this album is 'Winds of Wander'.

Tunage: Sweet

I'm finally done work. Got all paid up and feelin' pretty awesome. Going to spend my day rolling coins from my tips this summer (which I'm hoping will cover my laundry expenses for the year), hanging out with my little dude cat friend Shylo, and listening to this tune on repeat essentially. I plan to squeeze a run in at some point but I pretty much say that every day.. so we shall see how that one goes. Cheers!

Tunage: LCD Soundsystem

Getting ready for my much needed week off work by listening to a little LCD Soundsystem. This morning I went into the grocery store for some breaky fruit and the girl at the checkout counter was a real... unpleasant human. It's not the first time I've encountered her grumpiness at the shop but today I noticed she was quite friendly to the woman in front of me and then when it came my turn she didn't even crack a smile. I'm always cheery and nice to well, everyone, I like to think, and I usually had tried to just kill her with kindness but today was enough. She managed to check me out without saying a word to me so I left with a 'cheers, man' and I plan to avoid the express lane at all costs in the future (even if this entails waiting behind an elderly man snatching up all of the discounted paper towels whilst I only have a handful of blueberries). I know it's not a huge deal but it's amazing the slightest impact someone can have on an otherwise awesome morning, thus I am now listening to some upbeat tunes to put me back in my stellar mood! I can't wait to go back into work tomorrow morning and just be totally fucking nice to everyone who walks through that door with the hopes to brighten their day just a little bit. (I know this wasn't really a post about the band.. shh).

Tunage: Animal Collective

I'm beyond stoked to see these guys live in less than a month. I reckon they'll put on nothing short of an amazing show and I am particularly excited  to hear everyone in the audience singing and jamming along to Peacebone. Genius'.

Tunage: Devendra Banhart

This morning I've got Devendra Banhart on repeat (more specifically his tune 'Lover'). It's just such a feel good track which happens to accompany my earl grey tea, raspberry jam 'n toast, and sunny front porch splendidly. I've got the afternoon off of work and I'm not even the slightest bit bothered.

(And I mean, c'mon, just look'it the guy).
